The Farm
Masseria San Iorio is an organic farm in Abruzzo where each activity is connected to the others, creating a natural balance between cultivation, livestock farming, and processing.
Every sector — from orchards to vegetable gardens, from goats to bees — contributes to a harmonious production system, where nothing is left to chance and everything is guided by a single philosophy: to respect the land and enhance what it offers.
Our products are born from this interconnected system: fruit and vegetables grown without chemicals, honey and eggs that reflect the biodiversity of our territory, and milk that becomes cheese with full respect for animal welfare.
Finally, in our farm processing laboratory, the ingredients take shape: jams, liqueurs, sott’oli (vegetables preserved in oil), and other preparations that combine traditional rural knowledge with artisanal care.
A wealth of knowledge and attention that, day after day, expresses our idea of agriculture — authentic, sustainable, and deeply connected to the life of the Masseria.
THE ORCHARD
In our orchard, we grow ancient and local varieties, recovered over time thanks to collaboration with local farmers. The trees are cultivated without chemical treatments and provide authentic, richly flavored fruit, much of which is used to produce our organic jams, juices, and syrups.
THE GARDENS
The gardens of the Masseria follow natural seasonality and the principles of organic agriculture. Traditional varieties of vegetables grow here, cultivated with respect for the soil and biodiversity. Part of the harvest is used in our farm farm-to-table dining experience, where we offer simple and authentic dishes.
THE STABLE
Our goat farming is managed with great attention to animal welfare and environmental balance. The animals live in spacious, well-ventilated areas, are fed natural forage, and enjoy free grazing. From their milk, we produce high-quality dairy products, the result of daily work based on care and respect.
THE CHICKEN COOP
Our hens, from rustic and hardy breeds, live outdoors and roam freely. They produce fresh, genuine eggs that we use in the preparations of our farm kitchen and processing laboratory. Their presence also contributes to the natural cycle of the farm, enriching the soil and supporting biodiversity.
THE BEES
The bees of the Masseria are essential guardians of the surrounding nature. Through their work, they contribute to crop pollination and the health of the environment. From their nectar, we obtain wildflower (millefiori) honey, which reflects the botanical richness and purity of the air of our territory.
THE PROCESSING LABORATORY
In our processing laboratory, we transform farm products using artisanal methods and carefully selected ingredients. Jams, juices, liqueurs, and sott’oli are made from traditional recipes reinterpreted with care and a focus on quality, preserving the authentic aromas and flavors of our land.
Organic Farming
Organic farming is a production system that protects the environment, health, and biodiversity.
It is based on natural practices, excluding synthetic chemicals and prioritizing soil fertility, crop rotation, and animal welfare.
The goal is to produce healthy, high-quality food, while respecting natural cycles and minimizing the impact on ecosystems.
It is a sustainable production model that looks to the future without giving up the values of agricultural tradition.
